Job summary

State of Connecticut is seeking a Psychiatric Security Review Board/Competency Monitor for the Southwest Mental Health System. You will provide monitoring, evaluation, competency restoration, and consultation services for complex forensic cases.

The role requires a Master’s degree in mental health and at least three years of direct treatment experience, with licensure preferred. Positions are full-time, 1st shift, located in Bridgeport and Stamford in a state system.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a mental health field and three years of direct treatment experience.
• Licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker preferred.
• Experience conducting forensic clinical assessment and treatment planning.

Responsibilities

• Initiates consultation with DMHAS staff to assess current services.
• Collaborates with psychiatrists on PSRB monitoring and restoration to competency.
• Monitors community programs for statutory mandates.
• Provides clinical advice to programs, facilities and staff.
• Performs comprehensive clinical assessments.
• Testifies at PSRB hearings and court proceedings.
