Job summary

State of Connecticut in Waterbury is seeking a PSRB Competency Monitor to support the transition of individuals under PSRB supervision from inpatient care to community living. The licensed clinician engages with clients in the community, provides risk assessments, clinical consultation, and testimony as required, and collaborates with DMHAS and other providers to ensure safe, compliant transitions.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a mental health or related health care discipline and 3 years of experience providing assessment, treatment planning, and direct treatment services.
• Experience evaluating and addressing risk factors for violence and developing treatment plans for complex cases.
• Licensure in good standing as LPC or LCSW preferred; ability to provide testimony and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provides evaluation and consultation to inpatient treatment teams responsible for complex forensic cases.
• Collaborates with psychiatrists and other DMHAS staff to monitor PSRB orders and patient progress.
• Performs comprehensive clinical assessments and risk assessments for PSRB-related cases.
• Prepares statutorily required reports and testimony for PSRB hearings or court proceedings.
• Represents program at hearings and coordinates with community providers and facilities.
