Job summary

State of Connecticut DMHAS in Waterbury seeks a Clinical Social Worker within the Jail Diversion/Forensics Division to support individuals transitioning back into the community. You will collaborate with community providers, hospitals, Court Support Services Division, and other agencies to develop treatment plans, provide therapy, and coordinate discharge with facilities.

The position requires travel to correctional facilities and Whiting Forensics Hospital to co-lead psycho-educational groups

Qualifications

• Licensure as a clinical social worker in CT.
• Experience treating adults with mental health and substance use disorders preferred.
• Ability to lead clinical groups and collaborate with multiple agencies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychosocial assessments through clinical interviews with clients and families.
• Develop treatment plans with measurable objectives.
• Provide clinical treatment services including crisis intervention, individual, group and/or family therapy.
• Advocate and build networks of social and clinical services to support client needs; monitor treatment plans and document in clinical records.
