Job summary

The State of Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) seeks a qualified Clinical Social Worker for the Southwest Connecticut Mental Health System in Bridgeport. The role involves court, office and community-based services for individuals involved with the criminal justice system, including PSRB cases and restoration to competency in the community.

In this state position, you will join a multi-disciplinary team delivering evidence-based behavioral health services,

Qualifications

Requires licensure as a clinical social worker in Connecticut.
Experience conducting clinical assessments and developing treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
Experience delivering formal presentations or providing testimony in hearings, including forensic or clinical matters.

Responsibilities

Develop psychosocial assessments through clinical interviews with clients and families, considering developmental, social, cultural, substance use, psychological, environmental and medical factors.
Develop treatment plans with measurable objectives.
Provide clinical treatment services: triage, crisis intervention, individual/group/family therapy, screening and planning.
Advocate and develop networks of social and clinical services to help clients meet needs.
Monitor and evaluate treatment plans and document in clinical records.
Provide clinical supervision to Licensed Master Social Workers; collaborate with other providers.
Provide forensic evaluations and court testimony as required.
