Job summary

Sterling Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Foreman to lead a dirt crew on all phases of site construction in Beaver, Utah. You will supervise grading activities, interpret blueprints, and ensure safety and quality while coordinating with equipment operators.

The role requires extensive experience operating large heavy equipment, strong GPS/leveling skills, and a proven track record of on-time project delivery. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of supervising/crew leadership experience.
• Minimum 8 years of dirt and grading experience (subgrade treatment, fine grading).
• Minimum 8 years overall operating large heavy equipment experience.
• Minimum 8 years of main roadway/highway construction experience.
• Must be able to work safely and lift 70 lbs+; frequent bending, climbing, twisting, balancing, etc.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Flexible availability for overtime and weekends; valid driver’s license.
• Know how to shoot grade with level; some GPS knowledge.
• Good eye-hand coordination; depth perception required.
• Experience grading with various equipment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate grading crew activities, including hands-on equipment operation.
• Interpret blueprints, layout worksites, and shoot grades using levels and GPS.
• Inspect work for compliance with specs and safety standards.
• Optimize production methods and crew efficiency.
• Estimate materials, monitor schedules, and adjust workflows to meet deadlines.
• Maintain strong knowledge of equipment capabilities and limitations.
