What you'll do:
  • Lead a tight-knit crew, creating and promoting a positive team environment
  • Interpret tree trimming, removal, and spraying orders initiated by General Foreman or customer representative
  • Plan and layout daily work for your crew, considering time, clean-up, equipment, weather, and permissions
  • Perform a Pre-Job Hazard Survey at each site and assign work based on individual skills and abilities
  • Perform line clearing and tree trimming duties, including pruning, removal of at-risk/damaged trees, and debris removal
  • Climb trees and operate a bucket for trimming and removals near power lines
  • Prepare, operate, and maintain tools and equipment such as hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts
  • Remove limbs and brush, and dispose of debris
  • Mix and apply spray chemicals, preserving desirable vegetation
  • Ensure safety for employees and the public, enforcing safety practices
What you'll need:
  • Two or more years of experience as a Trimmer/Climber working around utility lines
  • Ability to lead people with strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of trees, including identification, growth habits, and arboriculture techniques
  • Experience in tree climbing, knot tying, and PPE
  • Understanding of electrical drawings and symbols
  • Ability to perform physical labor, lifting at least 50 lbs.
  • Capability to operate two-handed equipment and endure extreme weather conditions
  • Willingness to obtain necessary training and certifications, such as licenses and First Aid/CPR
  • Preferred valid Driver's License or CDL
