Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a dynamic utility foreperson/foreman for San Antonio, TX. Lead a 2- to 5-person crew in pruning and removal tasks for major electric utilities, with a strong focus on safety and efficiency.

This on-site, outdoor role offers training, advancement opportunities, and the chance to work with a national, employee-owned company dedicated to safety and quality service.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in utility line clearance tree trimming.
• Line clearance experience or other related tree work.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: CDL-Class A or B without air brake restriction
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2-5 person tree crew in performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers.
• Pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal.
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines.
• Perform job-site inspections with proper planning and execution of assigned work and tasks.
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
• Mentor and train new employees.
