Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking a dynamic utility foreman to lead a small crew on outdoor tree care assignments for major electric utilities. You will prune, remove, and repair trees to ensure safe clearance and reliable service, while mentoring newer employees.

The role requires experience in utility line clearance, a valid driver's license, and a willingness to complete Davey safety and certification courses. On-site work locations include Farmington, NM and other US sites.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Completion of Davey Tree Orientation Program on hire.
• First Aid, CPR and defensive driving training on hire.
• At least 18 months of utility line clearance tree trimming experience.
• Line clearance experience or related tree work.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2-5 person crew in pruning and removing trees for utility providers.
• Prune treetops and trim/remove damaged trees safely and efficiently.
• Remove broken limbs from lines, roofs, and other objects.
• Inspect sites, plan tasks, and operate tools safely.

Position Overview

Davey Tree Surgery, a Davey Company, is currently looking to add a dynamic utility foreperson/foreman to our passionate team of utility line clearance professionals. Your office is outdoors, and you get a new view every day!

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Lead a 2-5 person tree crew in performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:


• Pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal


• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects


• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines


• Perform job-site inspections with proper planning and execution of assigned work and tasks


• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more


• Mentor and train new employees

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors


• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire


• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire


• Required: 18 months of experience in utility line clearance tree trimming


• Required: Line clearance experience or other related tree work


• Required: Valid driver’s license


• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B without air brake restriction


• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law


• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®
