Job summary

Mortgage Center in Southfield, MI is seeking a Foreclosure Specialist to join our mortgage operations team. In this role you assist counselors to prevent delinquency and communicate with foreclosure attorneys, investors, and credit unions to determine liquidation strategies.

You will process loans through the foreclosure and bankruptcy processes, file reimbursement claims, and manage recoverability of legal costs while maintaining regulatory compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with foreclosure processes from referral through eviction.
• Knowledge of FNMA/FHLMC fore­closure guidelines.
• Experience with PMI and 571 claims and HUD/REO guidelines.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Foreclosure Specialist

Southfield, MI (Hybrid - 1 day per week on-site)

In the Foreclosure Specialist role, you'll be:

• Assisting counselors in preventing and reducing delinquency through effective communication with members via phone and email.
• Effectively communicating with foreclosure attorneys, investors, and credit unions to determine liquidation strategies .
• Processing loans through the entire foreclosure process, from referral to eviction.
• Filing reimbursement claims to recover foreclosure expenses, and determining and managing recoverability of legal fees and costs.
• Processing loans through the full bankruptcy process.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

• Share best practices and experiences to improve processes and increase productivity.
• Solve problems by using your analytical and organizational skills to predict and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with direct members of a team, as well as others within the organization.

You’ll have:

• Extensive knowledge of: foreclosure process, out of state foreclosure proceedings, FNMA/FHLMC required foreclosure guidelines, 571 claims, PMI claims, HUD, REO, and investor guidelines.
• Knowledge of all Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac and private mortgage insurance requirements.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced, highly regulated, and deadline-driven environment.
• Superb follow up skills.
