Job summary

McMichael Taylor Gray, LLC is seeking a Foreclosure Attorney with experience in Virginia to join its growing practice. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience representing creditors in foreclosures, evictions and/or title proceedings, or a strong desire to learn these practice areas.

Creditors’ rights background and litigation exposure are a plus. The firm values leadership, independence, and teamwork, and offers a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in good standing where you practice.
• Minimum of 3 years handling finance, real estate, or lender-representation matters.
• Experience in real estate, mortgage, or commercial litigation preferred.
• Knowledge of FDCPA, RESPA, TILA; state/federal debt and real property law a plus.
• Foreclosure/real estate law experience a plus; willing to learn if none.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Detail-oriented with multitasking and deadlines.
• Proficiency in legal research and drafting.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and management of high-volume statewide foreclosure matters.
• Expedite firm files and ensure appropriate actions.
• Act as liaison between firm and clients, vendors, outside counsel, courts, and trustees.
• Manage files following foreclosure rules and timelines.
• Use case management system to create and review reports.
• Review and draft pleadings and related correspondence.
• Maintain updates in client and firm systems.
• Outline, prepare, and present pleadings and documents.
• Argue merits at hearings, conferences, or trials.
• Attend or conduct public auctions as needed.
• Review title searches to identify issues and parties to serve.
