Qualifications

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of the states where you practice.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in finance, real estate, or representing financial institutions in real estate matters with courtroom experience preferred.
  • Experience in real estate, mortgage, or commercial litigation strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of FDCPA, RESPA, TILA a plus.
  • Willingness to learn foreclosure and real estate law if not yet experienced.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and management of high-volume statewide foreclosure matters.
  • Expedite firm files and ensure appropriate actions are taken.
  • Liaise between the firm and clients, vendors, outside counsel, courts, trustees, and foreclosure personnel.
  • Manage files per applicable foreclosure rules and firm timelines.
  • Use case management system to create, manage, and review reports.
  • Review and execute pleadings and correspondence.
  • Maintain updates in client and firm systems.
  • Outline, prepare, and present pleadings and legal documents.
  • Argue merits at hearings, conferences, mediations, or trials.
  • Attend and/or conduct public auctions as needed.
  • Review title searches to identify title issues and proper parties to serve.

McMichael Taylor Gray, LLC is seeking a Foreclosure Attorney with experience in Maryland to join its growing practice. The ideal applicant will be a career-oriented professional with at least three years of experience representing creditors in foreclosures, evictions and/or title proceedings, or a strong desire to learn these practice areas. Creditor-side bankruptcy experience is a plus, as is litigation experience. The applicant must have the ability to prioritize and manage numerous tasks in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, communicate professionally at all times, be effective working independently and as part of a team, and provide exceptional customer service. Leadership and management skills are strongly preferred.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing law with a focus on finance, real estate, or representation of financial institutions in real estate related matters with court room experience preferred.
  • Experience in real estate, mortgage and/or commercial litigation strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of FDCPA, RESPA, TILA, as well as any applicable state and federal debt collection and real property law a plus.
  • Experience in foreclosure and real estate law a plus; if none, must be willing to learn.
  • Exceptional communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in legal research, writing, and document drafting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining client confidentiality.
