Job summary

ISO New England Inc. seeks an Operations Forecasting Supervisor to lead a specialized team of Forecasters and Data Scientists supporting real-time Control Room Operations.

The role ensures accurate system demand, weather, and VER forecasts guiding Day-Ahead and Real-Time markets and energy settlements across New England. The position oversees 365‑day forecasting operations, ensuring coverage for all shifts including weekends and holidays, and collaborates with Operations Management, IT, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in power system operations and/or forecasting.
• Strong knowledge of ISO New England Market Rules, Operating Procedures, and related processes desirable.
• Experience with neural network modeling and probabilistic analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team of specialists.

Responsibilities

• Evolve forecasting methodologies to address increasing system complexity, including probabilistic forecasting techniques.
• Lead production of accurate, timely system demand forecasts for New England.
• Deliver hourly demand forecasts across intraday, day‑ahead through six days, and 21‑day outlooks.
• Monitor and validate demand and VER forecasts; identify root causes and implement actions.
• Provide reporting for operations, events, and executive updates.
• Coach and develop Forecasters and data scientists to improve accuracy and continuity.
• Maintain forecasting procedures and training materials.
