Job summary

Hoffman Auto Group in East Hartford, CT is seeking a service-oriented technician to diagnose, repair, and document repairs while maintaining up-to-date ASE/manufacturer certifications. You’ll assist in the shop, support customers, and uphold safety standards.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in customer service, strong communication, and a willingness to adapt to changing requirements, while promoting a positive image of the company.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required or preferred
• 1-2 years’ experience in a customer service oriented environment preferred
• Ability to adapt and embrace change with a customer centric mindset
• Advocates for teammates and demonstrates commitment to technology advancement
• Effective communication skills: oral, written, listening
• Works well with customers and promotes a positive image of the company
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Maintain ASE and/or manufacturer-required certifications; stay up to date with all manufacturers technical data and safety regulations.
• Read and understand customer complaints; diagnose and advise findings; complete authorized repairs per policy; return warranty parts to parts dept and road test vehicles as needed.
• Document all repairs using internet-based tools and Repair Order documentation as instructed.
• Meet all production-based metrics as prescribed by Management.
• Assist in the shop with cleaning, trash, and snow removal in winter.

Job Location: East Hartford, CT 06108, Salary Range: $18.00 - $20.00 Hourly, Role Purpose

Leadership

Core Accountabilities

• Maintain ASE and/or manufacturer-required certifications; stay up to date with all manufacturers technical data as well as service bulletins. Ensure compliance with all safety and OSHA regulations that pertain to your job.
• Read and understand customer complaints; diagnose and advise findings; complete all authorized repairs in accordance with manufacturer and company policy; return warranty parts to parts dept and road test vehicles as needed to verify completion of repairs.
• Properly document all repairs using both internet-based tools and physical Repair Order documentation as instructed per department requirements.
• Meet all production-based metrics as prescribed by Management.
• Responsibility to help in the shop for cleaning and trash a; long with cleaning floors trash and snow clean up in wintery months
