Ford Certified Transmission Technician

Ford of Arlington is currently seeking to hire an experienced, skilled, and self-motivated Ford Certified Transmission Technician who can diagnose, repair, and maintain Ford transmissions.

This Technician is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to other members of the technician team. This individual will perform advanced and accurate repairs according to daily work instructions as requested by management or Service Advisors.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, Repair, and Maintenance:
    • Diagnose and perform routine service inspections and lubrication of engines, replace and restore transmissions, and other major fuel components.
    • Test-drive vehicles and use diagnostic tools to confirm the malfunction of transmissions and determine estimated costs for labor and parts.
  • Communication and Customer service
    • Plan work procedures in cooperation with the Shop Foreman.
    • Communicate with the Service Advisor to inform customers about additional services needed, estimated restoration time, and cost associated with completion of the repair.
  • Compliance and Training:
    • Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
    • Attend sponsored seminars to stay informed about the latest Ford technology and industry trends.
    • Maintain a tidy workspace, ensure all equipment is in proper working order, and guarantee the disposal of all hazardous materials and chemicals. Adhere to safety and service requirements of the dealership.

Employee Prerequisites:

  • Onboarding process completed within days of applying!
  • Mandatory: Ford Certification through the Ford Certified Collision Network or Ford Blue Advantage Program. Pay based on experience.
  • Ability to understand and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Expertise to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Personal equipment/tools are necessary to become proficient and develop with the company.
  • Flexible schedule
