Job summary

Under Armour in Baltimore is seeking a Footwear Concept Creator to bring footwear ideas to life through hands-on development and rapid prototyping. You will translate design direction, athlete insights, and category needs into distinctive physical and digital prototypes, collaborating with design, development, product management, and factory partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with typically 2 years of related experience OR Master’s degree without experience OR typically 6 years of relevant experience without degree.
• Footwear making, cobbling, prototyping, and customizing in a sample room setting.
• Patterndesigns with lasts, materialize, andassemble footwear prototypes.
• 3D modeling along with 3D printing experience is a plus.
• Familiar with Industrial sewing machines and other machinery.
• Demonstrated project organizational skills.
• Demonstrated aptitude for communicating technical information to a non-technical audience.
• Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills; presentation and public speaking skills.
• Builds strong working relationships inside and outside the organization.
• Ability to work across the innovation organization, within a group, and independently with only general supervision.
• Entrepreneurially curious and creative; self-motivated, and disciplined.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to produce cutting edge designs reflecting UA’s DNA and brand – standards.
• Develop prototypes and evaluate fit, materials, and performance.
• Partner with design, development, product management, and factories.
• Explore new methods of making and manufacturing for innovation.
• Turn concepts into physical and digital prototypes for learning and decisions.
• Assess prototype construction, repeatability, and manufacturing considerations.
• Communicate findings to stakeholders and support decisions.
