Job summary

Under Armour in Baltimore, MD seeks a Footwear Designer I to elevate our Basketball line, focusing on Performance Run and Training footwear. This role offers creative exploration with UA’s latest technologies and will collaborate across design leadership, marketing, and development teams.

You will develop sketches, renderings, and technical drawings, lead project milestones, and present work at checkpoints. Located in Baltimore with a hybrid schedule (4 days in-office) and 5% travel.

Qualifications

• BA, BFA or BS in Industrial Design not required.
• 1+ yrs experience designing and developing innovative footwear and other products.
• Knowledge of form, color, materials, human factors related to elevating the consumer experience.
• Proficient Photoshop and Illustrator skills.
• Working knowledge of 3D software is a plus.
• Ability to create accurate 2D technical drawings.
• Strong sketching, illustration, and rendering skills.
• Introductory knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
• Must be able to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for each project.
• Hand prototyping skills are a plus.
• Experienced with presentation programs: Keynote, Powerpoint, Acrobat, etc.

Responsibilities

• Help to strengthen the UA footwear product engine from the design side, partnering with design leaders and teammates.
• Partner with design leadership to drive concepts for Basketball footwear.
• Work and collaborate inclusively with Marketing and Development teams to meet project objectives.
• Lead creation of individual footwear projects and milestone deliverables.
• Develop and execute clear and detailed sketches, renderings and technical drawings.
• Present design project work within project teams and at design checkpoints.
