Job summary

Brooks in Seattle is seeking a Footwear Developer I to help bring seasonal inline and SMU products from concept through sample tracking. You will work with senior developers, engineers, designers, and global partners to influence fit, cost, and performance.

This growth‑focused role is ideal for early career developers who are collaborative, detail‑oriented, and eager to learn the full product creation process with cross‑functional teams and Asia partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biomechanics, Design, Kinesiology, or related field.
  • 3+ years in footwear, apparel, or consumer goods; 1+ years in athletic footwear development preferred.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong collaboration and cross‑functional communication.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Lead execution of new uppers, SMUs, and color/material updates with global partners.
  • Manage the full sample process across teams to ensure accuracy.
  • Collaborate to deliver Fit, Feel, and Ride across product lines.
  • Develop tooling projects and maintain technical packages.
  • Own testing, validation, and feedback loops for project quality.
  • Lead multiple small‑to‑mid‑size projects with timelines and costs.
  • Communicate specifications clearly to global teams.
  • Identify process improvements in data accuracy and coordination.
  • Participate in Asia development trips (2–4 times a year).
  • Stay informed on market trends and sustainability opportunities.
