Job summary

Brooks Sports Inc. is seeking a Footwear Innovation Developer II – Racing Footwear at our Seattle HQ. You will work with a cross-functional product creation team from insights through commercialization to deliver the highest-performing racing footwear for Brooks athletes and all runners.

Your hands-on expertise covers outsole/midsole 2D/3D, pattern engineering, and materials knowledge. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 5+ years of experience in high-performance

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading high performance running footwear development, including track/field spikes and road shoes.
• Expertise in running footwear product development, costing, and manufacturing from concept to race day.
• Ability to lead cross-functional groups and influence without command.
• Knowledge of World Athletics rules for track spikes and footwear.
• Experience developing plates and thermoplastic materials via injection and carbon fiber molding.
• Strong communication, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple New Upper and New Tooling racing footwear projects from brief to factory confirmation.
• Deliver Brooks Fit, Feel, Ride goals through prototype rounds.
• Collaborate with Sports Marketing and athletes to ensure development timing meets enterprise needs.
• Manage racing shoe development samples and production approvals with World Athletics; represent Brooks at WFSGI.
• Identify gaps in technologies and lead new innovation projects for racing footwear.
• Guide Design, Asia Development, and PLM teams to ensure manufacturability and cost targets.
• Review blueprints, 3D CADs, and materials from performance and manufacturing perspectives.
• Advise Product team on materials and construction to meet pricing and goals.
• Initiate and lead meetings across product teams for on-time decisions.
• Collaborate with Research, Marketing and Costing teams to show samples meeting category criteria.
