Job summary

Sysco in Lansing, MI seeks an experienced outside sales professional to promote products, build new accounts, and drive profitable growth in the Lansing territory.

The role includes some non-traditional hours and travel. You will develop prospects, qualify opportunities, and provide product training while working with customer teams. Competitive base pay plus bonus, car allowance, cell phone, and a robust benefits package support your success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related discipline OR HSD/GED with 3 years Restaurant Management or outside sales experience or equivalent relatable experience including completion of the Sysco Sales Internship.
• Bi-Lingual preferred; Restaurant Management, Foodservice Outside Sales, Chef experience is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; automobile insurance with standard limits as required.

Responsibilities

• Develop new business, penetrate existing accounts, and grow profitable sales in the assigned territory.
• Qualify prospects and follow company account stratification goals.
• Research customer needs and tailor a mix of products/services to meet those needs.
• Provide product information and practical training to customer personnel.
• Drive to customer accounts, conventions, company meetings, and events.
• Coordinate with credit and transportation to manage orders and deliveries.
• Attend district meetings and ongoing sales training; assist with onboarding new employees.
• Review daily/weekly reports and prepare sales budgets and quotes; maintain sales records.
