Job summary

Freshpoint is seeking an outside sales professional in California to promote our products and services, build relationships with new and existing accounts, and help customers succeed while achieving sales and profit goals. This role may require working some non-traditional hours to meet customer needs.

You will develop new business, qualify prospects, tailor offerings to customer needs, and travel to accounts.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of sales, and/or chef/restaurant management experience, and/or related (Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality; or Culinary Arts) degree.
• 1 year of outside foodservice sales experience preferred.
• Restaurant management / chef experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop new business and penetrate accounts to achieve profitable sales growth.
• Qualify prospects following company account stratification goals.
• Research customer business needs and develop a mix of products and services to meet needs.
• Evaluate market trends and recommend products to customers based on business needs and goals.
• Be informed of market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales; share information with customers as part of value-added services.
• Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, and product use.
• Provide product information and practical training to customer personnel.
• Drive personal vehicle to customer accounts, conventions, company meetings, etc.
• Collaborate with credit department to collect balances due per approved terms.
• Manage deliveries to routing schedule; troubleshoot issues during order process.
• Participate in company functions, promotions, and customer events.
