Job summary

Sysco is seeking an experienced Sales Professional for outside sales to promote our products and services and to build relationships with new and existing accounts. The role may require non-traditional hours to meet customer needs.

You will develop new business, penetrate accounts, and coordinate with marketing and operations to meet sales goals. A degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience, is preferred, along with strong communication and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related discipline, OR HSD/GED with 3 years Restaurant Management, B2B or outside sales experience.
• Experience in B2B or outside sales is preferred and relevant internship satisfies the requirement.
• Sysco Sales Internship completion is acceptable as related experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop new business, penetrate existing accounts, and minimize lost business to achieve profitable sales growth within territory.
• Seek and qualify prospects following company account stratification goals.
• Research customer business needs and recommends a mix of products and services.
• Evaluate market trends and recommend products based on business needs and goals.
• Stay informed on market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' offerings.
• Answer questions about products, prices, and availability.
• Provide product information and practical training to customer personnel.
• Drive personal vehicle to customer accounts, conventions, and meetings.
• Communicate and collect accounts receivable as necessary with credit department.
• Manage deliveries to routing schedule; troubleshoot issues in order process.
• Participate in company functions, promotions, and customer events.
• Attend and participate in sales and district meetings.
• Engage in ongoing training and assist with onboarding of new employees.
• Review and analyze reports such as bid files and gross margin data.
• Prepare sales budgets, maintain records, process credits and quotes, and file reports.
• Other duties may be assigned.
