Job summary

Cameron Hospital in Angola, IN is seeking a part-time Food Service Worker for PRN, 1st and 2nd shift. You will prepare and serve foods following recipes and safety standards, operate kitchen equipment, and help maintain clean and compliant food service areas.

The role requires a High School Diploma (preferred) and experience in food preparation, sanitation, and safety. You will work both independently and with a team to deliver high-quality meals to patients and staff while adhering to HACCP

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Experience in food preparation, storing, sanitation, and safety in handling food and equipment required.
• Ability to work independently and with others, to manage time wisely, observe work, help with the needs of others and to perform a variety of tasks under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations to ensure high-quality food service is provided.
• Always provide the highest quality of service to customers.
• Follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs for consumption in eating establishments.
• Operate a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut and shred fruits and vegetables, and trim and cut meat, poultry, or fish for culinary use under direct supervision or instruction.
• Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment and must follow all Food & Nutrition, Hospital and regulatory rules and procedures.
• Attend all allergy and food-borne illness in-service training.
• Comply with all HACCP policies and procedures.
• Assume responsibility for the general supervision of the department, including tray service in the absence of other supervisory personnel.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
