A leading company in healthcare is seeking a Food Services Director to oversee dining services and manage staff. This role involves budgeting, menu planning, and ensuring high-quality food service for residents. Candidates should have experience in dietary services and personnel management, along with strong communication skills.
As the Food Services Director, you are responsible for managing, supervising, and directing the food service staff and program within the facility. You will manage the dining services budget, plan and prepare appealing, nutritious, heart-healthy, and fresh food for residents and guests. Additionally, you will coordinate and ensure the satisfactory and timely completion of projects and programs in the building across various shifts. Maintaining records of income, expenditures, supplies, personnel, and equipment is essential. You will secure and maintain all equipment, conduct periodic inventories, train new employees, and recommend dismissals when necessary. Acting as a liaison between building occupants or administrators and Yona Solutions staff, you must communicate effectively all directives. The role requires performing the duties of a Cook, Dietary Aide, and Dishwasher when needed. Training, quality control, and staff in-servicing are key responsibilities. As a department head, professional conduct is mandatory.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include interviewing, hiring, and orienting staff; maintaining proper staffing levels; supervising and evaluating dietary staff; training staff in cooking, dishwashing, and dietary procedures; issuing supplies and equipment; conducting daily audits; cross-training personnel; planning and budgeting; managing costs; menu planning; maintaining vendor communication; supporting catering and special functions; forecasting supplies; maintaining records; ensuring sanitation and safety standards; interacting with residents and staff; responding to customer preferences; responding to the paging system; performing duties of staff as needed; recognizing hazards and following safety protocols; representing Yona Solutions positively; complying with policies; and performing other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE include a high school diploma or equivalent preferred, with at least two years of experience in dietary services within a healthcare environment and personnel supervision preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES include punctuality, effective communication in English, reasoning skills for hazard recognition and safety, personal hygiene, courteous customer service, interpersonal cooperation, ability to work independently, dependability, professionalism, and the ability to complete all training requirements. Criminal background check is required.
