Job summary

The State of New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton is seeking part-time Food Service Workers to assist in meal prep and serving while maintaining high sanitation standards.

Shifts include mornings and evenings with some weekend work; wage range is posted with opportunities for advancement and team-based support in a resident-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must have 8th grade education.
• Must possess clean personal health and sanitation habits.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the preparation for, and the setup of, individual trays for food distribution.
• Sets up for meal service, takes food orders, serves residents and cleans dining rooms.
• Operates dishwashing machine, food disposal, toaster and heat on demand unit.
• Assists with passing and collecting trays and cleaning tables and chairs in dining areas.
• Stocks all work areas and unit kitchenettes; cleans all floor areas in dining and dishwashing areas.
• May assist in cooking or otherwise preparing foods as directed by the cook or diet staff.
• Trains new employees; performs extra cleaning tasks as directed.

The New Hampshire Veterans Home has part-time vacancies for Food Service Workers.

Proposed schedules include:

5:30am - 2:00pm shifts or 10:30am - 7:15pm shifts

Summary:

To assist in serving and preparing nutritionally balanced meals according to a prescribed menu plan and established safety standard.

YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

DETAILED TASKS (STANDARD): None

DETAILED TASKS (AGENCY/POSITION-SPECIFIC):

Participates in the preparation for, and the setup of, individual trays for food distribution.

Sets-up for meal service, takes food orders, serves residents and cleans ladies lounge and Tarr dining rooms.

Operates dishwashing machine, food disposal, toaster and heat on demand unit.

Assists with the passing of trays, collecting of trays and cleaning the tables and chairs on the LEDU units, Welch units and areas served for guest meal service.

Stocks all work areas and unit kitchenettes.

Cleans all floor areas in dining rooms, kitchen and dishwashing areas.

May be involved in cooking or otherwise preparing foods as directed by cook, chef, or dietary management team.

Exercises responsibility for training new employees.

Performs extra cleaning assignments as directed by shift leaders or dietary management team.

May be involved in procedures for receiving, documenting, and tray preparation relating to both regular and special diets
