Job summary

The Food Service Worker at Trinity Services Group prepares and serves a variety of food items inside a jail/correctional facility, reporting to a Food Service Director. Two shifts are available: 5am–1:30pm or 10am–6:30pm, with one weekend off monthly and some weekends/holidays required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior institutional food service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist team members in the preparation of quality foods according to the planned menu, recipes, and work instructions promptly.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and food-safe workstation; pull trash, sweep, and mop as part of daily duties.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes.
• Abide by all food safety regulations regarding sanitation, handling, and storage.
• Perform routine kitchen tasks, staying organized and clean.
• Stand, lift, bend, push, kneel, walk, and endure extended shifts.
• Other duties as determined by needs.

About This Position

• Must be available to work some weekends and holidays*

two shifts available 5am to 1:30pm or 10am to 6:30pm

The Food Service Worker prepares and serves a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus within a correctional setting. You will report to a Food Service Director. This position is located onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist team members in the preparation of quality foods according to the planned menu, recipes, and work instructions promptly.
• The duties of the Food Service Worker include, but are not limited to, cleaning as you go and maintaining a neat and food safe workstation, which you will clean and maintain. These responsibilities also include pulling trash, sweeping, and mopping.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes.
• Abide by all food safety regulations about sanitation, food handling and storage.
• Perform routine kitchen tasks, while being organized and clean.
• You will have physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You'll Need

  • High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience. Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Preferred:
  • Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
