Job summary

Trinity Services Group, a TKC Holdings company, is hiring a Food Service Worker for an on-site position inside a jail/correctional facility. You will prepare and serve a variety of meals, follow menus and recipes, and maintain a clean, food-safe workspace.

Reporting to a Food Service Director, you will work as part of a team to ensure timely service and quality. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, are at least 18, and hold a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist in the preparation of quality foods according to planned menus and recipes.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and food-safe workstation; perform cleaning duties as assigned.
• Serve meals on schedule and in accordance with procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils and equipment to cook following recipes.
• Comply with all food safety regulations for sanitation and storage.
• Handle routine kitchen tasks; stay organized and clean.
• Stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

About This Position

The Food Service Worker prepares and serves a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus within a correctional setting.

You will report to a Food Service Director. This position is located onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist team members in the preparation of quality foods according to the planned menu, recipes, and work instructions promptly.
• The duties of the Food Service Worker include, but are not limited to, cleaning as you go and maintaining a neat and food safe workstation, which you will clean and maintain. These responsibilities also include pulling trash, sweeping, and mopping.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes.
• Abide by all food safety regulations about sanitation, food handling and storage.
• Perform routine kitchen tasks, while being organized and clean.
• You will have physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You'll Need

• Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience. Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
• Preferred:
  • Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
