Job summary

Trinity Services Group in Missouri is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare and serve meals inside a jail/correctional facility, reporting to a Food Service Director. The role requires availability on some weekends and holidays and a schedule from 5am to 2pm with rotating days.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, prior institutional food service experience, and a passion for teamwork and safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist team in making quality foods per recipes and menus.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
• Serve meals according to planned schedules.
• Operate kitchen equipment according to instructions.
• Follow all food safety regulations for sanitation and storage.
• Stand for long periods and perform lifting as needed.

About This Position

Must be available to work some weekends and holidays

Schedule is 5am to 2pm with rotating days

The Food Service Worker prepares and serves a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus within a correctional setting.

You will report to a Food Service Director. This position is located onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist team members in the preparation of quality foods according to the planned menu, recipes, and work instructions promptly.
• The duties of the Food Service Worker include, but are not limited to, cleaning as you go and maintaining a neat and food safe workstation, which you will clean and maintain. These responsibilities also include pulling trash, sweeping, and mopping.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes.
• Abide by all food safety regulations about sanitation, food handling and storage.
• Perform routine kitchen tasks, while being organized and clean.
• You will have physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You’ll Need

• Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience. Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Preferred:
  • Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
