Job summary

Trinity Services Group is hiring a Food Service Worker for on-site duties inside a jail/correctional facility. The role reports to a Food Service Director and entails preparing and serving meals per provided menus and instructions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, 18+ years old.
• Preferred: prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
• Desire to learn and follow food handling regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist in the preparation of quality foods per menu and instructions.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and food-safe workstation, including cleaning tasks.
• Serve food during meal times following procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils and equipment to cook according to recipes.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation and storage.
• Perform routine kitchen tasks and stay organized and clean.
• Stand, lift, bend, push, and move during shifts as required.

About This Position

The Food Service Worker prepares and serves a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus within a correctional setting.

You will report to a Food Service Director. This position is located onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist team members in the preparation of quality foods according to the planned menu, recipes, and work instructions promptly.
• The duties of the Food Service Worker include, but are not limited to, cleaning as you go and maintaining a neat and food safe workstation, which you will clean and maintain. These responsibilities also include pulling trash, sweeping, and mopping.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes.
• Abide by all food safety regulations about sanitation, food handling and storage.
• Perform routine kitchen tasks, while being organized and clean.
• You will have physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You'll Need

• Required: High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience. Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Preferred: Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
