Job summary

Edmonds School District is seeking a part-time Food Services Worker to support breakfast and/or lunch meal services. The role involves setting up, serving, and cleaning up meals, while also maintaining kitchen records such as temperature logs, production logs, and student meal accounts.

The position is Non-exempt, with a daily shift from 11:45am to 1:15pm, 1.5 hours per day over a 180-day calendar, and eligibility for district benefits as described in the SEBB program.

Position Information

The Food Service Worker position performs a variety of functions related to the breakfast and/or lunch meal services in Edmonds School District Kitchens. This position sets up, serves and cleans up after school meals. This position also maintains records for the school kitchen including temperature logs, food production records and student meal accounts.

Shift Details

1.5 hours a day; 180 day calendar; shift hours are 11:45am-1:15pm

Continuing Position

Employees have reasonable assurance of continued employment to the following school year. However, an employee's total work hours, work locations, and the designated beginning and ending times may vary.

FLSA Status

Non-exempt

Hourly Rate

$25.46 per hour. Additional step increases from $25.46 to $27.56, dependent on employer-approved training. (2026-2027 Food Service Salary Schedule)

Required Qualifications

Special Licenses/Requirements:

  • Food Handlers Permit
  • National School Lunch Programs are federally funded and require food service workers to attend a minimum of 6 hours of annual paid training (provided by the school district).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification through the school nutrition association is optional to receive annual stipend per CBA.
