Job summary

Baptist Health Lexington is seeking a dedicated Food Service Worker to join our Food & Nutrition Services team. The role supports patient comfort by preparing, assembling, and delivering meals per dietary guidelines, while maintaining cleanliness and safety in a fast-paced hospital kitchen.

You will assist with nourishments, patient trays, and event service, following infection prevention standards and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Food Handlers card or Serv Safe certificate required within 6 months.
• Ability to prepare and serve meals to patients, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, assemble, and serve meals following recipes and dietary guidelines.
• Wash, sanitize, and store dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Transport patient meal carts and collect soiled trays from nursing units.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards.
• Assist with nourishments, special events, and other food service needs.
• Support patient satisfaction by minimizing food waste and promoting service quality.
• Perform routine and deep cleaning of kitchen areas.
