Baptist Health Lexington is seeking a dedicated Food Services Worker for a full-time, first-shift role within the Food & Nutrition Services team. You will prepare, assemble, and serve meals to patients, visitors, and retail guests, while maintaining high standards of safety and sanitation.

You will wash, sanitize, and store kitchenware, transport meal carts, and support nourishment needs in a fast-paced hospital setting. The role emphasizes accuracy, compassion, and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Food Handlers card or Serv Safe certificate within 6 months.
• Ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, assemble, and serve meals for patients, visitors, and retail customers following standardized recipes and dietary guidelines.
• Wash, sanitize, and store dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Transport patient meal carts and collect soiled trays from nursing units.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, and workplace safety standards.
• Assist with nourishments, special events, and other food service needs as assigned.
• Support quality service by minimizing food waste and promoting patient satisfaction.
• Perform routine and deep cleaning of kitchen areas, including dishwashing equipment and waste disposal areas.

The Food & Nutrition Services team at Baptist Health Lexington plays an important role in supporting patient health and comfort through high-quality meal service. Room Service Associates serve as the primary contact between patients and the food service department, ensuring that every meal is delivered with care, compassion, and accuracy. Whether assisting patients with menu selections or delivering trays to the bedside, this role is key to creating a positive patient experience.

The Food Service Worker prepares and serves meals, assembles patient trays, maintains clean kitchen and dining areas, and supports safe food handling. This role follows all food safety, sanitation, and hospital policies while providing excellent service to patients, visitors, and staff.
