Position: Fresh Foods Supervisor

The supervisor will oversee all activities of the deli/food service department and its staff to meet merchandising, sales, and customer service goals. Candidates must have at least 2 years of food service management experience and a passion for food and customer service.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Managing department staff, achieving goals, and communicating with store management and supervisors.
  • Hiring, onboarding, and coaching new team members.
  • Scheduling staff shifts.
  • Engaging with customers through friendly interactions, providing product information, and offering samples.
  • Processing customer orders, ensuring timely and satisfactory completion.
  • Adhering to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ordering products and supplies to maintain stock levels and merchandising standards.
  • Overseeing the preparation and display of deli/food items, including entrees, fried foods, pizzas, salads, soups, sandwiches, and beverages.
  • Following product recipes accurately and rotating stock for quality and safety.
  • Receiving and inspecting merchandise, managing inventory, and maintaining storage areas.
  • Completing paperwork accurately and promptly.
  • Handling cash register transactions and ensuring correct pricing and signage.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of counters, prep areas, and storage.
  • Ensuring safety protocols are followed by staff.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a food service environment, preferably in management.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings; willingness to assist other locations.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
  • Serv-Safe certification preferred.
  • Passion for food and creativity.
  • Professional and courteous communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic math skills and familiarity with register systems and UPC codes.
  • Ability to read labels, signage, and policies.
  • Knowledge of deli ingredients and food preparation.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • Reaching, bending, working in coolers/freezers, standing for long periods, and manual dexterity with kitchen tools.
