Position Overview: Fresh Foods Supervisor

The fresh foods supervisor will oversee all activities within the deli/food service department, managing personnel to meet merchandising, sales, and customer service objectives. Candidates must have at least 2 years of food service management experience, a passion for food, and a dedication to serving customers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Managing department staff, achieving goals, and coordinating with store management and supervisors.
2. Hiring, onboarding, and coaching new team members.
3. Scheduling staff shifts.
4. Engaging with customers through greetings and offering product information and samples.
5. Processing customer orders to ensure satisfaction.
6. Adhering to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
7. Ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels and merchandising standards.
8. Overseeing food preparation and merchandising of items like entrees, fried foods, pizzas, salads, soups, sandwiches, and beverages.
9. Following product recipes accurately.
10. Rotating products for quality and safety, controlling shrinkage.
11. Receiving and auditing merchandise, managing inventory counts.
12. Completing paperwork accurately and promptly.
13. Handling cash register transactions, including giving change and processing refunds.
14. Ensuring correct use of scales, signage, and pricing.
15. Maintaining cleanliness and order in sales and food prep areas.
16. Ensuring safety procedures are followed by all staff.
17. Performing additional duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years old.
• Minimum of 2 years in a food service management role, preferably in fresh foods.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings; willingness to assist other locations.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
• Serv-Safe certification preferred.
• Passion for food and creativity.
• Professional and courteous demeanor.
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Basic math skills and familiarity with POS systems.
• Ability to read labels, signage, and policies.
• Knowledge of deli ingredients and food preparation.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs, work in coolers/freezers, and stand for long periods.
