Position: Fresh Foods Supervisor

The supervisor will oversee all activities of the deli/food service department and its staff, aiming to meet merchandising, sales, and customer service goals. Candidates must have at least 2 years of food service management experience and a passion for food and customer service.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Managing department personnel, achieving goals, and communicating with store management and department supervisors.
2. Hiring, onboarding, and coaching new team members.
3. Scheduling staff shifts.
4. Engaging with customers through greetings, offering product information, suggesting products, sampling, and expressing gratitude.
5. Taking customer orders and ensuring timely, satisfactory completion.
6. Adhering to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
7. Ordering products and supplies to maintain stock levels and merchandising standards.
8. Overseeing food preparation and merchandising of deli items, including entrees, fried foods, pizzas, salads, soups, sandwiches, hot/cold beverages, and snacks.
9. Displaying items per company merchandising guidelines.
10. Following recipes accurately.
11. Rotating stock to ensure quality and safety, controlling shrinkage.
12. Receiving and auditing merchandise, managing storage and inventory counts.
13. Completing paperwork accurately and promptly.
14. Processing transactions, giving change, and handling refunds.
15. Using scales and register equipment correctly.
16. Monitoring product pricing, signage, and placement.
17. Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of counters, prep areas, and storage.
18. Ensuring safety protocols are followed.
19. Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum age of 18.
• At least 2 years of management experience in a food environment.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings; ability to assist at other locations.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Serv-Safe certification preferred.
• Passion for food and a creative approach.
• Professional communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Basic math skills and familiarity with POS systems.
• Knowledge of product ingredients and food handling procedures.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
• Reaching, bending, standing for long periods, and working in coolers/freezers.
• Dexterity for using kitchen equipment.
