About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for supervising inmate labor and team members assisting with food service in a correctional facility. This role involves preparing and serving various food items according to menus and work instructions, and utilizing food preparation utensils and machines.

Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities

• Supervise inmate labor and/or team members during food prep and service shifts
• Prepare or instruct in food preparation according to menus and recipes
• Ensure proper and sanitary storage of food
• Serve food according to schedules and policies
• Use kitchen utensils and equipment properly to prepare and serve food
• Follow all food safety regulations
• Train other food service workers
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment
• Follow uniform and hygiene policies
• Manage waste and keep the kitchen environment clean
• Review portioning and utensil use for service
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You'll Need

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; at least 18 years old
• Preferred: Prior experience in institutional or restaurant food service
