About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor supervises inmate labor and team members assisting with food service in a correctional facility. Responsibilities include preparing and serving various food items according to work instructions and menus, utilizing food preparation utensils and machines.

Core Responsibilities

• Supervise inmate labor and team members during food prep and service
• Prepare and assist in food preparation according to menus and recipes
• Ensure proper storage and sanitation of food
• Serve food during scheduled meal times following policies
• Use kitchen utensils and equipment properly
• Follow food safety regulations
• Train other food service workers
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment
• Follow uniform policy
• Manage garbage and keep floors clean
• Ensure environment is ready for food prep and serving
• Review portions and utensils for service
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment
• Physical demands include lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, standing
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent, at least 18 years old
• Preferred: prior institutional food service or restaurant experience
