Job Summary: As a key member of the Food Service management team, the responsibilities include providing exceptional customer service, leading by example, driving sales through effective merchandising of fresh products, and assisting the Food Service Manager in building a productive team through teamwork and training.
Essential Job Functions:
- Ensure efficient and courteous customer service at all times, supporting the mission to “Run the Best Store in Town!”
- Lead by example in customer service, associate relations, cleanliness, sanitation, professional appearance, and overall profitability.
- Create a positive, friendly, and fun work environment with a customer-first approach, encouraging associates to greet and assist customers promptly and courteously.
- Interact professionally with management, associates, and customers.
- Assist the Food Service Manager in managing all Food Service operations.
- Provide training and development for Food Service associates.
- Implement and enforce marketing and merchandising plans, including plan-o-grams.
- Assist in ordering merchandise to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Complete all department paperwork according to standards, including inventory management.
- Inspect and rotate products regularly, maintaining close-dated items on the Electronic Short Date List.
- Maintain a clean and safe department following sanitation schedules and daily checklists.
- Follow all policies, procedures, and regulations related to the Food Service department.
- Communicate regularly with management and staff, providing information and instructions.
- Assist in enforcing and maintaining food safety standards.
- Ensure high product quality and proper completion of production sheets.
- Support scheduled breaks and routine announcements to promote sales.
- Conduct freezer pulls as per guidelines and attend scheduled shifts punctually.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- 1-2 years of experience in Food Service operations.
- Ability to resolve conflicts diplomatically.
- Knowledge of training methods and operational procedures.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and perform routine tasks.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities.
- Knowledge of Food City policies and procedures.
