Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience in food service operations, three in a supervisory capacity.
• Knowledge of nutrition and methods of food cost effectiveness preferred.
• Valid food handler’s permit required, if required by the state of Texas.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise the administrative and food service activities of the department.
• Provide staff training, evaluate staff performance and implement changes as approved by leadership.
• Assist the deputy warden in budget preparation and monitor expenditures.
• Assist in development and implementation of new and revised policies affecting food services.
• Provide meals that are nutritious, appealing and cost-effective.
• Ensure quality of production and maintain cost controls within budget.
• Supervise detainees assigned to food services and oversee special functions.
• Coordinate with other facility staff concerning food services.
