Job description

Perkins Management is a high-energy food service company seeking to expand its operations and culinary team. We are looking for a dynamic individual to join us as the Food Service Manager at a local client site in Johnson S. Smith.

The Food Service Manager will oversee front-of-house operations. The ideal candidate will have significant contract food service management experience, strong operational and financial skills, and excellent client relations abilities. Additionally, certification in ServSafe, knowledge of HACCP standards, leadership qualities, staff development skills, and customer service expertise are required.

The Food Service Operations Manager will provide hands-on leadership for the front-of-house dining program by supervising staff managers, hourly supervisors, and employees. This role embodies the “Perkins Difference” philosophy by delivering a high-quality dining experience and continuously improving the dining services program. The Operations Director, in partnership with Human Resources, will handle hiring, training, staffing, and performance management of staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Collaborating in hiring, developing, and retaining a high-quality staff alongside the Food Service Manager.
• Supporting the Executive Chef in developing innovative menus with nutritional information.
• Promoting sustainability within the dining services program.
• Maintaining high standards of sanitation and employee safety.
• Achieving budget goals through effective cost control of food and labor.
• Training and developing front-line staff in customer service, food safety, and sanitation standards.
• Possessing a college degree in a restaurant/hotel field or equivalent experience.
• Maintaining professionalism in all business interactions and communications.
• Holding ServSafe certification (or obtaining it within 90 days of hire).
• Having excellent organizational and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
