Job summary

The role emphasizes teamwork, accuracy in portions, and maintaining clean, safe stations in a fast-paced cafeteria or concession setting. Previous food service experience is helpful; Serve Safe certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of and assist in preparation of food items for the day and dating products.
• Coordinate and assist in setting up and breaking down stations designated by the manager.
• Cook and prepare foods according to recipes and directions.
• Use accurate portions when preparing and serving items on the line.
• Maintain daily temperature logs.
• Take samples of all food items on the line prior to serving customers.
• Alert management and pull items that do not meet quality expectations.
• Complete opening and closing station checklists.
• Greet customers as they approach and leave the serving line.
• Ask customers about the quality of their service and handle complaints with a positive attitude.
• Maintain a clean work station (floors, areas, equipment, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks).
• Ensure all serving utensils are cleaned and sanitized.
• Dispose of waste from the service line accurately.
• Move supplies between storage and work areas.
• Assist with daily safety observations and report hazards.
• Cross-train in areas as needed.
• Work in concessions, catering, and special events as required.
• Perform tasks as requested by management.
• Lead employees on the line to ensure timely service; coordinate with utility staff for sanitation.
