ASRC Federal Field Services provides logistical support at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in North Charleston (FLETC Federal Complex off of Spruill Avenue).

We are seeking a Food Service Lead who demonstrates skills and abilities significantly greater than a Food Service Worker, both technically and in leadership. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of food service operations in a large cafeteria and assumes a key leadership role in the absence of the Director and Assistant Director, maintaining sanitation, safety standards, and customer service.

Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must pass a background investigation and physical exam.
  • Must be able to work evening and weekend hours.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Punctuality and good attendance are essential.
Preferred Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or lead capacity.
  • Valid Serv Safe Food Handler’s Certification.
Responsibilities
  • Lead, plan, assist, and review staff work related to food service operations, including setting up serving areas, steam tables, and food/beverages; organize and implement activities; adjust assignments as needed.
  • Provide leadership and support to staff, including training in food preparation and service techniques.
  • Verify accuracy and proper methods of staff work, ensuring compliance with standards and safety procedures.
  • Assist in opening and closing food service areas, including operating ovens and lighting.
  • Oversee the operation of the POS system, train staff, and manage cash register procedures and receipts.
  • Maintain sanitation standards, including cleaning dishes, equipment, and work areas.
  • Manage inventory, report low supplies, and inspect food quality.
  • Maintain records and reports related to safety, sanitation, and operations.
  • Respond courteously to inquiries, provide information, and resolve complaints efficiently.
  • Operate cash registers and follow cash control procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
