Job summary

SSP America at the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) in Romulus, MI is seeking a Food Service Worker who can greet guests, take and prepare orders, handle payments, and keep equipment and workspaces clean. You will perform opening, ongoing, and closing checklists and assist with day-to-day duties to ensure guest satisfaction.

Ideal candidates have at least one year in food service, English fluency, and the ability to remember and promote menu items.

Qualifications

• One year experience in food service environment.
• Dunkin' experience is an asset.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items.
• Ability to operate a keyboard and POS procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check.
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Process orders and enter them accurately into the POS system.
• Receive payment from customers and process change.
• Set up, maintain, clean, and breakdown machinery and equipment.
• Complete opening, on-going, and closing checklists as required.
• Return all items used during your shift to proper places and clean storage areas.
• Perform general cleaning tasks using standard products to meet health standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Here are a few things you can expect as a Food Service Worker at SSP America:

To prepare, serve, sell, and maintain food/beverage items. This includes, greeting guests, taking orders, preparing orders, and receiving payment. These tasks are to be performed in a timely and professional manner to achieve the highest level of guest satisfaction.

• Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner
• Process orders and enter them accurately into the POS system
• Receive payment from the customer and process change
• Responsible for set-up, regular maintenance, cleaning, and break-down of any machinery and equipment
• Complete opening, on-going, and closing checklists as required
• Return all items used during your shift to the proper place, clean and organize all work and storage areas (including all coolers and refrigerators), empty and re-line all trash containers
• Perform general and specific cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards
• Other duties as assigned

Skills & Other Requirements

• One year experience working in food service environment.
• Previous experience working at Dunkin' is an asset
• High school diploma preferred
• Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests
