Job summary

SSP America is seeking a Restaurant Cashier at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport. You will process orders, enter them into the POS system, accept payments, and serve a wide range of food and drinks while keeping the area clean and welcoming.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of food service experience, be at least 18, and communicate in English. A high school diploma is preferred; on-the-job POS training is provided.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a food service environment.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Must be minimum 18 years old.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English to communicate with guests.
• Ability to recall and promote menu items.
• Ability to operate POS procedures to pre-check an order and close a check.
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Process orders quickly and accurately.
• Receive payment from customers and provide change.
• Serve drinks and a wide variety of food items.
• Transfer supplies between storage and work areas.
• Keep the work area clean throughout the day.
• Clean equipment and utensils; remove trash; sweep and mop.

• Processing orders quickly and accurately
• Maintaining cleanliness and service standards daily

As a Restaurant Cashier, here are few things you can expect:

• Process orders and enter them accurately into the POS system.
• Receive payment from the customer and process change.
• Serve cold, frozen, and hot drinks as well as a wide variety of food items to guests.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Ensure that the work area is clean throughout the day.
• Clean equipment and utensils, removes trash, sweep and mop work area, dust and clean.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Other Requirements

• One year experience working in food service environment.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Must be minimum 18 years old.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests
• Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items
• Ability to operate a keyboard & point of sale procedures to pre-check an order & close out a check
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long period of time
