Job summary

SSP America is hiring a Restaurant Cashier in the Detroit area. You will process orders, handle payments, and serve a range of beverages and foods to guests in a high-volume setting.

The role requires at least 1 year in food service, basic English, and comfort with POS systems. High school diploma is preferred. SSP America promotes equal opportunity employment and accommodations during application as required.

Qualifications

• One year experience working in a food service environment.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English to communicate with guests.
• Ability to operate a keyboard and POS procedures to pre-check orders and close checks.

Responsibilities

• Process orders quickly and enter them accurately into the POS system.
• Receive payment from customers and provide correct change.
• Serve drinks and a variety of food items to guests.
• Transfer supplies between storage and work areas.
• Keep the work area clean throughout the day.
• Clean equipment and utensils, remove trash, sweep and mop.

At SSP America, our Restaurant Cashier are one of our most important customer service roles. Our Restaurant Cashier are experts at quite a few things including:

• Processing orders quickly and accurately
• Maintaining cleanliness and service standards daily

As a Restaurant Cashier, here are few things you can expect:

• Process orders and enter them accurately into the POS system.
• Receive payment from the customer and process change.
• Serve cold, frozen, and hot drinks as well as a wide variety of food items to guests.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Ensure that the work area is clean throughout the day.
• Clean equipment and utensils, removes trash, sweep and mop work area, dust and clean.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Other Requirements

• One year experience working in food service environment.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Must be minimum 18 years old.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests
• Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items
• Ability to operate a keyboard & point of sale procedures to pre-check an order & close out a check
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long period of time
