Job summary

North Reading Public Schools is seeking a Food Service Associate Permanent Substitute. The role supports breakfast and lunch service across five schools, reporting four days a week from approximately 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

You will assist with food preparation, serving students, and maintaining sanitation under the Diet Services Director. Candidates should have at least one year of school cafeteria experience, a reliable work ethic, and good communication skills.

Qualifications

• One (1) year past experience in school cafeteria and/or food service preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required
• ServSafe certification, preferred
• High School/Trade School degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing Food Service preparation and other kitchen related duties, under the direction of School personnel.
• Assist in preparation of hot and cold foods
• Serve breakfast and/or lunch to students
• Follow all food safety and storage rules; follow sanitation procedures
• Perform daily cleaning including ware washing
• Cashiering
• Cooperate with the School staff to provide a positive and inviting dining experience for students and faculty
• Work closely with the Lead Manager and other staff on a daily basis
