Job summary

SEEM Collaborative Administration in Stoneham, MA is seeking a dependable Substitute Food Service Aide to support its schools food service program, preparing and serving nutritious meals for students with special needs. The role requires flexibility, accuracy, and adherence to safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate may work in four school locations in Stoneham, Wakefield, Wilmington or Woburn, reporting to the Cook Manager and Food Service Director.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with food, cashiering, and children preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of basic methods of preparing and serving food in large quantities.
• Knowledge of and ability to safely use standard food service appliances and equipment.
• Familiarity with school breakfast and lunch program requirements.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations and simple record-keeping procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation, cooking, and service of breakfast and lunch for students with special needs.
• Preparing, serving, and selling food, meals, and snacks in accordance with established procedures and program requirements.
• Assisting with cashiering and maintaining accurate records, as needed.
• Maintaining food service facilities and equipment in a neat, clean, safe, and sanitary condition.
• Preparing food, supplies, and materials needed for the following day of service.
• Assisting with the cleaning of the kitchen, serving areas, utensils, equipment, and other food service areas.
• Washing down and cleaning tables following meals.
• Following all applicable food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.
