Job summary

Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a Per Diem Food Service Worker to provide daily meals and beverage service in onsite settings. You will participate in set-up, serving, replenishment, and basic food preparation following established standards.

The role requires the ability to read and follow instructions, lift heavy objects, and maintain safe food handling practices. Prior food service experience is preferred for this on-site position at 52 Second Avenue.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Experience: 2-3 years in food service preferred.
• Abilities: follow routine verbal and written instructions, read and write, and maintain safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Set up food service areas, equipment, and utensils per instructions.
• Convey food and supplies from kitchen to serving areas.
• Prepare or assist in preparing hot/cold dishes, beverages, salads, and desserts as needed.
• Serve food items to customers and ensure correct portions.
• Replenish foods, utensils, and serving stations; manage condiments.
• Assist in cleaning and maintaining work areas and equipment.
