Job summary

MelroseWakefield Hospital in Massachusetts seeks a per diem Food Service Worker in the Diet & Nutrition Department to support meal preparation, tray delivery, and kitchen sanitation across hospital locations.

The role requires food service experience and ServSafe certification within 6 months. Preferred candidates have a high school diploma and at least 1 year in hospital food services. Shifts include 1st/2nd with weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• Food service experience required.
• ServSafe certification to be obtained within 6 months of employment.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year in hospital food services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and communicates diet order information to ensure patients receive appropriate meals.
• Assists patients with menu selection and writes/modifies diet orders.
• Delivers and collects patient trays and ensures accuracy of meals.
• Supervises and trains staff; coordinates with department leadership.
• Prepares orders for food, paper, chemicals, and office supplies; participates in inventory and ordering.
• Ensures safety, sanitation, and HACCP compliance; participates in safety trainings.
