Job summary

Meriwether Godsey is hiring a Full-time Cafeteria/Food Service Associate at Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. You will greet customers, operate registers, and help maintain a fast-paced dining environment.

The role requires 2–5 years of food service experience (preferred), a High School Diploma or equivalent, strong communication, and flexibility to switch locations and duties. ServSafe certification preferred; reliable transportation is expected.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a positive and friendly attitude.
• Operate registers, scanners, scales, and credit card/debit card terminals while handling exchanges quickly and efficiently.
• Transport food and supplies to the cafeteria area and assist in setup, maintenance, and breakdown of dining areas.
• Serve and replenish food from counters and steam tables.
• Assist in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods and store food properly to maintain safety and freshness.
• Keep cafeteria areas and kitchen areas neat and organized.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, dining tables, chairs, and equipment throughout and after meals.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of other kitchen areas by following cleaning assignments.
• Inspect workstations for compliance with service standards.
• Participate in safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments.

• Must be available to work as follows: Varies to include nights and weekends
• Pay rate: $14 Per Hour

What You Will Do

• Greet customers with a positive and friendly attitude
• Operate registers, scanners, scales, and credit card/debit card terminals while handling exchanges in a quick, efficient manner
• Transport food and supplies to the cafeteria area: assist in the set-up, maintenance, and breakdown of dining, food-serving, and beverage areas.
• Serves and replenishes food from food counters and steam tables.
• Assists in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods and properly stores food, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage.
• Keep cafeteria areas and assigned kitchen areas neat and organized
• Clean and sanitize work areas, dining tables, chairs, and equipment throughout and after meal periods
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of other kitchen areas by following daily and weekly cleaning assignments
• Inspects workstations for compliance with service standards.
• Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments.
