Job summary

Meriwether Godsey, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Food Service Associate at The Governor's Academy in Byfield, MA. The role emphasizes friendly customer service, food handling, and reliable transportation to support daily cafeteria operations.

The successful candidate will work Sundays and Wednesdays 11:00–19:30, with duties spanning greeting guests, cash handling, food service, setup/breakdown, and ensuring a clean, safe dining environment. Salary is $20 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• FBI background check required.
• Excellent communication and good organizational skills.
• Flexibility to switch between locations and duties.
• Reliable transportation needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a positive attitude.
• Operate registers, scanners, scales, and card terminals.
• Transport food and supplies to the cafeteria and assist with setup and breakdown.
• Serve and replenish food from counters and steam tables.
• Assist in hot/cold food preparation and proper storage.
• Keep dining room and kitchen areas neat and sanitary.
• Follow daily and weekly cleaning tasks and safety procedures.
• Attend regular safety meetings and trainings.

Meriwether Godsey is looking for a Part-Time Food Service Associate at The Governor's Academy, a prestigious independent day and boarding school located in Byfield, MA.

• Must be available: Sunday and Wednesday, 11 am-7:30 pm
• Part-time
• Food handling and customer service experience preferred

What the Food Service Associate will do:

• Greet customers with a positive and friendly attitude
• Operate registers, scanners, scales, and credit card/debit card terminals while handling exchanges in a quick, efficient manner
• Transport food and supplies to the cafeteria: assist in the set-up, maintenance, and breakdown of the cafeteria, food serving, and beverage areas.
• Serve and replenish food from food counters and steam tables.
• Assists in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods and properly stores food, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage.
• Keep dining room areas and assigned kitchen areas neat and organized
• Clean and sanitize work areas, dining tables, chairs, and equipment throughout and after meal periods
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of other kitchen areas by following daily and weekly cleaning assignments
• Inspect workstations for compliance with service standards.
• Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments.
